Monday, Funday

The girls and I are having more alone time these days, since Sweetheart's new job means he works longer hours, but less days. So this week we spent our precious time learning origami. This year's tree is going to feature all handmade origami ornaments, which we will make next week. We are going to glitter them up for that extra special something. Can't wait to show ya pics next week.....

What did you do for family fun this week??

I have two Christmas trees which are nothing but origami figures: one is comprised of nothing but cranes, the other has ornaments made of three dimensional prisms. Like you, I adore folding origami. I'm sure your tree will be spectacular! Have you ever read the children's book The Tree of Cranes by Allen Say? It's very special.

hey, Gina, thanks for stopping by! Those antique places are all on Hwy. 98 in Destin. Great stores!

Mine would look like the ones in the middle of your table!

Have fun!

The ones in the middle of the table are lotus flowers. This is not a good angle of them, because now I realize they look like wadded up paper. We had a lot of fun learning how to do hearts, stars, flowers and even a Christmas tree.

Different ideas keep popping up into my head!

Thanks, for stopping by.
I would have loved to be part of your family gathering today to learn about origami ornaments.

Thanks for stopping by my blog to see my yard sale finds. Origami? Whoo hoo! My daughter is fanatical about origami stars. She's made 9,000, I think! I should post them.
